The project De gira por europa con don quijote is based on an existing story, “El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha” (The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha) and involved students in 3ème French and Italian students of 2nd middle school in the task of collaborative and creative writing. Through Mind Maps and creative writing the students took a journey between reality and fiction today. Does one have to be very technical minded to run a project like this? On the stage of the eTwining Prizes, the project founders answered: “you don’t need to be an expert. You need to be curious. It takes time to find the tools, experiment with them and use them. You need curiosity, not technical expertise.”
The project was in Spanish, but students have used their mother tongues as well. the project was embedded in geography, mathematics, arts, music. This integration of many subjects was done in a quite unusual way. The way students became “authors” is also intriguing. Students could communicate though many channels and in general the project is Creative and Innovative.
